not the motherboard

The great thing about having a techie for a husband means that you have 24/7/365 technical support for most computer issues.  Now this help isn’t always the most pleasant, more often than not you’re put on hold for huge lengths of time, or the worst case scenario is presented before the problem is really even looked at ("the motherboard is shot!")  But theoretically at least, the support is there.

Well, my poor little overworked laptop gave up the ghost the other day right in the middle of a marathon Club Penguin session.  The screen went black and there were no lights to be seen.  Long story short, and after finally resorting to the professionals at HP, it turns out the likely culprit is the AC adaptor, and a new one is on it’s way as we speak.

and my vacation photos are saved.

Hmmm – didn\’t it turn out that it wasn\’t the AC adaptor after all?  And after receiving an AC adaptor from HP that didn\’t fix the problem they told you to send in the whole laptop? Seems to me like your on-site support gave you a faster, more accurate diagnosis than HP.  🙂
