mmmm, fig season

I was in my 30’s and living in Toronto when I found out that figs weren’t always the little dried things that you find at Christmas in the produce department.  And it was love at first bite.

It is fig season and I bought my first box full yesterday.  mmmmm.  Here’s a recipe from Wednesday’s newspaper:

Fig Paste

  • 1 cup fresh fig pulp
  • 1 Tbsp soft butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Mush together and serve on toast.
