Is beaujolais nouveau:

1. a fruity little red wine that pairs perfectly with turkey?
2. a marketing ploy foisted upon unsuspecting wine drinkers?
3. the first stuff they squeeze out of the grapes and that would otherwise be thrown away?
4. one of the few wines that should be "put away" for days rather than weeks?
5. all of the above?

Oh, I don’t know, I’m guessing #5.  But to be honest, not being much of a drinker I really like this stuff.  It’s like soda rather than wine.  I’ve bought two bottles for Thanksgiving.  I first learned about it when I was living in Amsterdam.  It was a very big deal.  My French colleagues poo-pooed the whole thing. But these were the same folks who wouldn’t buy cheese unless it could walk across the counter by itself.
