I know that I’ve mentioned the Making Books Monthly newsletter by Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord before. It is a wonderful newsletter about making all kinds of books with kids.
This month she introduces us to the printed adinkra cloths made in Ghana and the many heart-shaped symbols that can be found on them. There is a great link describing these cloths here. This is sankofa which symbolizes learning from and building on the past.
It seems appropriate somehow.
