Derick is out of town so I decided to get myself in a mess.  I’ve been poking away at painting P’s room forever.  In fact, we’ve never done anything in his room except a bit of inexpensive furniture and a few vinyl wall stickers.  So Monday I hauled everything out and prepped the room.

I’m not much of a decorator so I went all matchy matchy, ordering a comforter set and wall border from Olive Kids that P picked out.  Like every kid, he’s crazy about dinosaurs.  The curtains are made from the top sheet  that came with the set.  I just cut it in half lengthwise — I may add some rick rack or something to give them more oomph.  The blank spot on the wall is for a mural that R has sketched out.  It’s going to be awesome.  His bed is tucked into what used to be the closet.  I may put the shelf back in with a few plastic bins for treasures.  We’ll see.

I still have tons of stuff left to go back into the room so I need to organize it (i.e. take 90% of it to Goodwill while he’s at school tomorrow) and hang a few pictures.  I’ll also add a low heat reading lamp above his bed and a few hooks for hats, binoculars, etc.
