I’m in a printmaking lull at the moment. Not sure what to do next. I’m going to try a few things that take me out of my comfort zone and see where it leads me.

The first is a portrait.  I did alot of sketching when we were in Kuau-i.  One of my favorites is a sketch of a rather large fellow sitting on a log.  He was fun to sketch and he sat in the same position for a long time, making it easy for me to get alot of details and fuss over my drawing.  I’ve transferred my sketch to watercolor paper with black ink, so will get working on that.  But I also transferred it to a woodblock to make a print.

I keep telling myself I can’t draw.  But after finishing my first sketchbook I’m having second thoughts.
