Yesterday my friend Leslie was over and she asked what kind of bugs were those on my plant. On closer inspection we found a nest of baby spiders – all huddled in a tight little ball. When you touch a nearby leaf they all scurry out on the web. Slowly they then make their way back to their huddle. Adorable.
Since I had my camera out I poked it into a neighboring shrub and took a few shots of the bumblebees. Fat little things.
There was a time when I was a kid that I was so afraid of anything buggy or wiggly or reptile-y. I was determined to never show this fear to my kids and have since grown to love all manner of critters in my garden.
I’m glad I got over it.
