Last year I planted artichokes and lost them to a long week of below-freezing weather during the winter. 

I’m determined to grow them because they really are a beautiful plant so I planted three more this year.  Two of the plants have kind of muddled along but the third currently has three flowers, and is in bloom. 

Totally worth the fuss.
