You know the work of Shepard Fairey, you probably just don’t know it.  He is the man behind the fabulous poster used throughout the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. 

Earlier this week we were at Lucky Strike, a very upscale bowling alley in downtown Bellevue.  It’s like Chuckie Cheese for grownups.  Imagine my surprise as we walked in and looked around to find about 20 Shepard Fairey prints and mixed media pieces.  And they were fantastic. 

I had seen images of the mixed media before, but seeing them up close and personal, seeing the layering and the amount of work that goes into building them up is overwhelming.  I love love his work on the large pieces.  Here’s a video of him working on one of them.
