When showing my prints and plush to some middle school kids last spring one of them asked if I really liked the ocean.  Why yes, yes I do.  Lots of my art reflects this. 

I grew up on the Canadian prairie, vast reaches of land, beautiful rolling fields. I studied environmental science in University so I could name every landform, plant, animal and bird (well, most of them).  Since we moved to the Pacific Northwest I’ve had to learn what all this new stuff is and I love it.  I love running for my guide books or pestering my friend Sophie – or her son.  We go to the shore as often as possible and I try to have my camera with me.
