tonight is the night

Parklane Gallery Show October 056Here is the last piece I will feature for my show which opens tonight and runs through the end of December. It is at Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, WA and you can find all the details here.

I’ve mentioned this piece before.  It based on a print that I did quite awhile ago and sold at the KAC Store in Kirkland. I loved the simplicity of the print.  It focused on the water, the boat was really a small part of it.  I wanted to bring the boat to life.  The fabric for the sail is Kaffe Fassett – I have a rather large stash of his fabrics and I love every piece.  His color palette suits my work.  Inside the boat are three little felt fish.  The net is cast over the side and you can even see the little anchor.  This was one of those pieces that I could have continued to accessorize but you have to know when to stop. Not that I do.

The boat is about 14” square.  You know what I mean. It sits on the blue felt ocean.
