Okay, it’s really a hen as you can see, so not nearly as scary as a real cockatrice. And she doesn’t turn you to stone when you look at her. phew. I’ve yet to finish the wee egg that she has laid, but that is next.
There are quite a few details that can’t be seen in this photo; the yellow beaded breast that stretches from just under her chin to half-way down her dragon’s tail, the feathers that are scattered over her (although the base is white “fun” fur – which is surprisingly not fun to work with), the cute little beak, the detailed “boning” on the little dragon wings and the awesome sequins and beads that make up the tail.
I must get this one in to my friend Larey for a proper portrait.
