Since getting back from camp in August I’ve been determined to make time for printmaking. Luckily I have two like-minded friends, one with a lovely studio with a press that we can all gather in and chat and print or mostly chat. Last week we started carving some blocks, this week we ran some lino cuts through the press, played with chine colle and I hand printed an easy cut block. It was fun and productive.
I’m so pleased with my fish. A little rainbow roll of orange and dark yellow. Sometimes simple is the best way to go.
It’s hard to find a good description of chine colle let alone one with pictures, so I was really pleased to see that my friend (and printmaker extraordinaire), Cathy Savage has a wonderful tutorial on her blog. You can find it here.
