As much as I loved my little Nick Bantock book, I decided to switch gears and get back to sketching everyday. I try to practice mindfulness as often as possible in my daily life – it helps in so many ways, particularly in dealing with stress and anxiety. As much as I enjoyed the collage work, I was missing the simplicity of sketching and coloring.
My daughter found two books in her room, “Illustration School” by Suchiko Umoto. One has plants and small creatures, the other cute animals. They are a lot of fun to follow along with. I’m using some colored pencils (also found in my daughter’s room – she is busy decluttering).
I noticed that she has a “draw along” kit with paper and instructions. This would make a great gift for the budding artist in your life, or for yourself!!
