We had snow last night but the schools were still open, with a one hour late start. So off we trundled for the bus but after waiting an hour (the kids happily played in the snow) we decided it just wasn’t going to make it. The roads were a mess and we were hearing from neighbors who had tried to get to work that most of the intersections around us were tangled with accidents and the hills were clogged with drivers unable to get up and too scared to try going down. We assumed that the school bus just wasn’t going to make it.
We got home and there was a message from our driver that she was late but was trying to get to us, criss-crossing around her route to get to our stop. By the time I called her she had already gone by our stop and was heading back to the bus barns. We missed each other by moments. The kids are not nearly as sad about this as I am.
They seem to be making the most of it…

Our last big snowfall was enough that the dog was completely submerged, and of course it was a Sunday, so back to work like normal on Monday. Doggie would be completely visible in that measly bit of snow on the ground. Wussies:)
