a late entry

024030There was one more podium at the gallery when I was there on Monday and I just couldn’t leave it that way.  Plus I had this piece of off-white velvet from the remnant bin that needed to be made into something.  My friends had lots of ideas but when Moki suggested a sugar skull…

I love making tiny sugar skull pins.  I wanted to make this one look more like a real skull sot the back is curved outwards.  It’s quite difficult to see it at it’s best in these photos.  The little spider is busy making a web on the back of the skull.  The skull is mounted at a tilt on a wooden block.  It stands about 18” tall.
